Feeney, Feeney, Feeney, can’t you see

Thursday’s sports section has a story about Moorhead football coach Kevin Feeney. Feeney is in his first week of fall practices at Moorhead after he left Fargo South in January.

The kids at Moorhead love Feeney. They’re also a little afraid of him as well. When Feeney was hired, a YouTube clip chronicling two-a-day practices at Fargo South circulated around Moorhead. Below is the link to the video.

Forget the chicken statue….

People know Rothsay for it’s chicken statue. It is the world’s largest prairie chicken statue after all.

The photos even prove its a nice looking statue. But that’s not the only thing going on there.

The folks in Rothsay can be excited over having a football team.

Rothsay combined with Barnesville for the 18 seasons to form a football team. Rothsay broke off last year playing a junior varsity schedule. This year, Rothsay will be its own team playing a nine-man schedule.

It also sounds like Rothsay could have a good year in part to the offensive line. The line apparently averages 240 pounds. Another big number is that 30 kids have come out for the team.
